A security alert on the border at Newtownbutler is ongoing, following reports to police that two bombs have been abandoned.
Police in Fermanagh have confirmed that they are continuing to advise people living in the Wattlebridge area near Newtownbutler not to approach unknown or suspicious objects.
The warning follows calls made to a Belfast radio station on Sunday purporting to be from a terrorist organisation and claiming that two bombs had been abandoned on roadsides in the area.
A police spokesman said "We would ask for the patience and support of the local community in this operation. We have to assess the risks to the community and to police officers. Among these are that while the terrorists have claimed to have abandoned two devices, there is always the possibility that others have also been left."
Suspicious objects should not be approached or touched, police are warning.Any that are seen should be reported to police at Enniskillen immediately
